DatAgro finished the beta phase!
The DatAgro Project celebrated the completion of its beta phase in an event that took place this past Tuesday the 29th of September in Pataguas Cerro. Also present were Meghan Cagley, Project Officer with DataDyne.org, Alain Hermosilla, National Consultant for FIA (the Foundation for Agrarian Innovation) and Adolfo Cerón, the mayor of the Pichidegua region.
After seven months of working together, and the sending more than 11,000 SMS messages in total, 30 members of the Coopeumo Cooperative received diplomas recognizing them as DatAgro Facilitators. These individuals have successfully taken part in the beta phase of the project which will see them help to train the 300 remaining members of the Cooperative (using a train-the-trainers approach) to use the mobile information platform. This project is helping to transform Coopeumo into a pioneering organization that helps to provide information through ICTs to improve agricultural productivity levels.
