Been working with a variety of groups including HHS and PAHO to develop a system to track available bedspace in healthcare facilities in Haiti, so that clinicians in small clinics who have patients needing a higher level of care. Very, very challenging given that there is no single group that is taking responsibility for tracking something like that.  A group called Shoreland has set up a website to accept reports from facilities, and those reports can be submitted by SMS (to subsequently be parsed by humans), or several other methods, including EpiSurveyor.  I think the system will stand or fall depending on the quality of reporting, though, and we'll have to see whether we'll get enough of a reliable stream of reports from facilities to provide a good resource for all the clinicians that are out there doing their best in bad circumstances. Definitely one of those situations where we can't let the perfect be the enemy of the good enough and at least this is a start.
