Come join the George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences as we raise money for neglected tropical disease (NTD) control and elimination efforts.

NTDs are a group of 13 debilitating but often ignored diseases that affect what many call the "bottom billion," or the poorest 1.4 billion people who live on this planet. These NTDs cause a huge disease burden: they disfigure, stunt growth and cognition in children, and can lead to blindness, illness, and death.

Happy Hour for Neglected Tropical Diseases

Wonderland Ballroom

1101 Kenyon St, NW

Washington, DC

Wednesday, March 31

5:00 - 9:00 pm

For JUST 50 CENTS, one person can be treated for 7 NTDs for one year! So far, our group has raised more than $3,000, which will provide treatment for more than 6,000 people! Our goal is to raise at least $5,000 by the end of the campaign on April 2, 2010.

We will have an optional cover at the bar to collect donations for the Just 50 Cents Campus Challenge, a campaign sponsored by the Global Network for Neglected Tropical Diseases (www.globalnetwork.org). 100% of this cover will be used by the Global Network to fund NTD control and elimination efforts in Haiti.

Come enjoy happy hour specials of $1 off Rail Drinks and $2 off Draft Beer at Wonderland - all while meeting and mingling with others passionate about global health issues! I hope you can join us!
